Reliable plus facile tracking device
I am living inside germany as a consequence imported theo- device from theo- usa (bass pro). SPOT Personal Tracker took unfortunately 8 weeks because theo- german customs was holding it back. I am running theo- device currently as 2 weeks. The activation on theo- spot web situate worked fine. Foreign addresses as a consequence credit cards are accepted.
The device works without any problems inside germany.
Beside theo- messaging (included inside theo- basic subscription as $99.99/year) i also use theo- tracking service (additional $49.99/year toward theo- basic subscription). The tracking should be re-activated every 24h via pressing theo- ok button as 5 seconds. Every 10 minutes theo- current position is sent toward theo- satellite. This position is very accurate (within a few meters accuracy). In your account (on theo- spot web site) you prison access theo- messages as a consequence theo- tracking data as kml repository (google tracking format) as a consequence also display theo- positions inside google maps as a consequence google earth. So far i like theo- device very much. In theo- next months i determination use it on my wilderness trips.
Tip as how toward publish theo- tracking data on your own home page: the tracking data is offered through theo- account that is password protected. I don’t want other people accessing my account. If you have a running pc with network (e.g. Permanent dsl) then you prison use a webtool (e.g. Imacros as firefox) as polling regularly theo- kml repository from theo- account (be responsible as doing it not too frequently). After that theo- kml repository prison be copied on toward your home page (e.g. Write a small script that uses ftp). Then link it with google maps (see http://maps.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=41136 as instructions). So anyone visiting your home page prison guard your burning tracking positions inside google maps (use it e.g. When you are on vacation). Alternatively someone prison define a so called “network link” inside google earth that periodically reads this kml repository from your home page.
Tip as theo- underwrite activation: if you enter theo- esn (equipment serial number) on theo- spot web situate as theo- underwrite activation, then include theo- ‘-’ character. Otherwise you gain a misleading error new that theo- device is already inside use.
